07/2000 - VAC-TRON Equipment President Named Entrepreneur of the Year.

Don Buckner, president of VAC-TRON Equipment, has been named Florida's Entrepreneur of the Year in the category of real estate/construction. The winners were announced at a gala awards-ceremony held at the Orlando World Center Marriott, June 28. The event was the culmination of an intensive search to identify and recognize Florida's outstanding entrepreneurs.

The program recognizes entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

Florida's winners are now eligible to participate in Ernst and Young's National Entrepreneur of the Year awards competition, the pre-eminent program honoring outstanding owners of fast-growing companies.

Previous Entrepreneur of the Year award winners include a "Who's Who" of business leaders, such as Michael Dell of Dell Computer Corporation, Jim McCann of 1-800-Flowers, Steve Case of America Online and Howard Schultz of Starbucks Coffee.

Founded and produced by Ernst and Young LLP, the Entrepreneur of the Year program is nationally sponsored by The USA Today, CNNfn and CNN, the Nasdaq Stock Market, and the Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership.
